This committee was renamed on 26 September 2017 to the Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government.
The Committee on Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government considers and reports to Dáil Éireann on the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government and the bodies under the department’s aegis. Legislation and European Union matters that relate to the department and its bodies also fall within the committee’s remit.
The committee's name was changed from the Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government on Thursday, 29 September 2016.
