Vol. 252 No. 8

Visit of Lord Mayor of Cork

I welcome the newly elected Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Tony Fitzgerald, to the House. It is not too often we have the Lord Mayor of Cork city in this illustrious Chamber. He is accompanied by his beautiful wife, Georgina, and his two daughters, Michelle and Deborah. I am sure all Senators will join me in giving them a special welcome. They are in Dublin for a special occasion. I hope they enjoy their visit. I wish the new Lord Mayor a very successful year in office. He has a very busy time ahead of him. I am sure he will deal with his strenuous tasks and duties with great aplomb, as he usually does. I hope he enjoys his visit to Seanad Éireann and the Oireachtas.
