Housing and Homelessness Committee to launch key Report into tackling homelessness

The Committee on Housing and Homelessness will launch its report on the problems of housing and homelessness tomorrow, Friday, 17th June 2016.

Date: Friday, 17th June 2016.
Time: 11am.

Committee Chairman, John Curran TD, says: “Tomorrow our Committee will launch its final report into the housing and homelessness problem in Ireland. The scale of the challenge facing Ireland is immense. As well as those who are already homeless, there are thousands of others who are at risk of losing their homes and facing homelessness.  Since our first meeting in April, our Committee has heard from a large number witnesses and also received over 80 written submissions from the public and interested stakeholders.”

“The report we will launch tomorrow will detail the recommendations we have arrived at on foot of our engagement with groups and individuals on how best to tackle the problem of housing and homelessness.”

The Chairman and other Committee Members will be in attendance and available for questions following the launch.

Copies of the report will be available at the launch and it will be published on the Oireachtas website shortly afterwards.
