The Committee on Budgetary Oversight has commenced its pre-budgetary scrutiny. Today it meets with representatives of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council and the Economic and Social Research Institute.
Today’s meeting, held in Committee Room 2, is the first in a series of hearings the Committee is set to hold in advance of the 2018 budget. In these hearings, the Committee will examine the foundations on which the forthcoming budget is being built. It may then make recommendations to the Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform.
