Standing Order 112 Select Committee to assess EU draft legislative proposals

The Dáil Standing Order 112 Select Committee will meet today Wednesday, 1st June, at 2.30pm in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.

The Select Committee is a transitional committee established by the Dáil to execute Oireachtas powers under the Lisbon Treaty as an interim measure, in particular, to ensure that EU draft legislative acts adhere to the ‘principle of subsidiarity’ as defined under the Treaty.

Today, the Committee will carry out further Scrutiny of COM(2016)198 which is a proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directive 2013/34/EU as regards disclosure of income tax information by certain undertakings and branches.

It will also carry out subsidiarity Assessment of EU Draft Legislative Proposals:- COM(2016)194; COM(2016)196; and COM(2016)202

COM(2016)194 is a regulation of the European and of the Council establishing an Entry/Exit System (EES) to register entry and exit data and refusal of entry data of third country nationals crossing the external borders of the Member States of the European Union and determining the conditions for access to the EES for law enforcement purposes and amending Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 and Regulation (EU) No 1077/2011.

COM(2016)196 is a proposal for a regulation of the European and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) 2016/399 as regards the use of the Entry/Exit System.

COM(2016)202 is a proposal for a regulation of the European and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No 258/2014 establishing a Union Programme to support specific activities in the field of financial reporting and auditing for the period of 2014-20
