Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 29A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Barry Cowen and Carol Nolan - to discuss the decision of the HSE and Offaly MIDOC to close facilities in Birr and Edenderry; (2) Deputy James Browne - the need for the Minister for Health to address the lack of regulation within community-based mental health care services; (3) Deputies John Brassil and Danny Healy-Rae - to discuss the issue of flooding on the R551 at Ballyheigue, County Kerry; (4) Deputy Mary Butler - to discuss the unique south-eastern model in residential care homes; (5) Deputy Dessie Ellis - to discuss Garda resources in Ballymun, Whitehall and Santry in Dublin; (6) Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan - to discuss the role of the Naval Service in the Mediterranean and Libyan reception centres; (7) Deputies Seamus Healy and Mattie McGrath - the need to review the psychiatric service bed capacity in County Tipperary; (8) Deputy John McGuinness - the need for infrastructural works and flood reliefs at Tinnahinch, County Carlow, and Graiguenamanagh, County Kilkenny; (9) Deputy Niamh Smyth - the need to invest in the emergency department at Cavan & Monaghan Hospital; (10) Deputy Frank O'Rourke - to discuss delivery of key services for children and young adults with disabilities in Kildare North; (11) Deputy Seán Haughey - to discuss the status of St. Thomas special school, Clonshaugh and the impact on the education of itinerant ethnic groups; (12) Deputy John Curran - to discuss Garda resources at Rathcoole Garda station; (13) Deputy Pearse Doherty - to discuss resourcing of diabetes care services in the north west; (14) Deputies Marc MacSharry and Tony McLoughlin - to discuss the withdrawal of tourist boat access to Innismurray Island, County Sligo; (15) Deputy Joan Burton - to discuss the removal of a mural at the Project Arts Centre in Dublin; (16) Deputy John Brady - to discuss the provision of funding for essential works on the N81; (17) Deputy Róisín Shortall - to discuss the cuts to the capitation funding for primary schools; (18) Deputy Pat Buckley - to discuss the expansion of the rent pressure zone scheme; (19) Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett - to discuss the ongoing pensions dispute at Irish Life Assurance and Financial Services Limited.; (20) Deputy Louise O'Reilly - the need to discuss provision of education facilities for children with autism in Skerries; (21) Deputy Mick Wallace - to discuss recent bombing raids by the US and Saudi-led coalition; (22) Deputy Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire - the need to discuss the announcement of new schools in the Cork area; (23) Deputy Michael McGrath - to ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the status of her Department's financial support for the planned events centre in Cork City; (24) Deputy Brian Stanley - to discuss the plan to locate St. Francis School at Borris Road, Portlaoise; and (25) Deputy Clare Daly - to discuss the plan to undertake a national study on sexual violence in Ireland.

The matters raised by Deputies Barry Cowen and Carol Nolan, Seán Haughey, Róisín Shortall and Maureen O'Sullivan have been selected for discussion.
