Business of Joint Committee

We are now in public session. I remind members to turn off their mobile phones completely or put them in silent mode. I propose we go into private session to deal with some housekeeping matters. Is that agreed? Agreed.

The joint committee went into private session at 1.36 p.m. and resumed in public session at 1.47 p.m.

We are now in public session.

We are dealing with correspondence. Item No. 2018/213, is an invitation to the International Transport Forum in Germany. Does the committee wish to nominate one or two members to attend?

The Chairman is going.

Item No. 2018/214 has been dealt with. Item No. 2018/215 is an email from Mr. Ciaran Delaney about last week's committee meeting. I want to advise members that Mr. Delaney is an extremely active voluntary worker in the House, not a paid worker. He asked me to clarify that and I am happy to do so. Item No. 2018/216, is an email dated 12 February from the Journal Office attaching a Notice of Motion. It is proposed to note the correspondence. Is that agreed? Agreed.

Item No. 2018/217 is an email from Ms M. Daly, Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport regarding COM(2017)548. It is proposed to note that correspondence. Is that agreed? Agreed.

Item No. 2018/218 is an email from the clerk to Mr. Chris Smith regarding a request for a briefing for future meetings of the committee. That was a standard request. We have discussed this item previously and it is proposed to note the correspondence. Is that agreed? Agreed.

Item No. 2018/219 is an email from Deputy Munster regarding the meeting about CIÉ pensions. Deputy Munster is to discuss this.
