Tusla, the Child and Family Agency has advised that it is committed to the leasing of new modern office space at Shannonside Retail Park in Carrick-on-Shannon. These new premises will provide easy access to the public and will accommodate the expansion of Tusla staff and services for local communities.

Tusla is currently finalising the design process for the building prior to the conclusion of legal engagements. When this work is completed, the fit-out of the building is due to commence. I have previously advised the Deputy that the new premises are scheduled to be opened by the third quarter of 2018. Tusla has advised that this work is on target to be completed by Quarter 3, 2018.

Disciplines covered by Tusla staff in the Carrick-on-Shannon area include child care, social work and service management. The new building, when completed, will ensure a unified service from Tusla in Carrick-on-Shannon.
