Scottish Minister to brief EU Affairs Committee

6 Feb 2018, 14:26

Michael Russell, MSP, Minister for UK Negotiations on Scotland’s Place in Europe, will appear before the Joint Committee on EU Affairs tomorrow at 2pm in Committee Room 3, Leinster House.

Speaking in advance of the meeting, Committee Chair, Michael Healy-Rae TD said, “Access to the single market is key for business and industry in Scotland and tomorrow, Minister Russell will update us on the Scottish government’s strategy for ensuring Scotland can remain a member of the European Single Market even if the UK Government chooses a different outcome. Holyrood’s Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Relations Committee visited Dublin two weeks ago and met with us to discuss a range of issues relating Brexit and trade between the UK, Ireland and the EU. We hope to continue to nurture the strong ties between Ireland and Scotland and we look forward to a productive meeting tomorrow.”
