Ulster Bank CEO to attend Finance Committee

The Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow at 9.30am in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.

 

Mr. Gerry Mallon, Chief Executive of Ulster Bank, will appear before the Committee to discuss matters relating to the banking sector.

Committee Chairman, John McGuinness TD, says, “The Committee will continue its series of meetings with the pillar banks tomorrow, engaging specifically with Ulster Bank.  The meeting will focus on the tracker mortgage issue, including redress for affected customers, mortgage interest rates and arrears, IT services and overall regulation within the banking sector.”

Prior to the session on banking, the Committee will commence scrutiny of a number of EU Legislative Proposals with particular emphasis on Priority Proposals: COM(2017)331 [European Securities and Market Authority - Authorisation of Central Counterparties (CCPs) and recognition of Third Country CCPs] and COM(2017)343 [Pan-European Personal Pension Product].
