Vol. 109 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplies of Galvanised Iron Roofing.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that supplies of galvanised iron roofing are insufficient to carry out necessary roofing and repair work on farm buildings; and if he will take steps to have additional supplies made available at the earliest possible moment.

I am aware that existing supplies of galvanised iron roofing are inadequate to meet the accumulated demand.

There is a world shortage of iron and steel and, consequently, difficulty is being experienced in obtaining our requirements of various iron and steel goods, including galvanised iron. Every effort is, however, being made to obtain additional supplies.
