Vol. 160 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers (resumed). - Advisory Councils and Similar Bodies: Justice.

Major de Valera

asked the Minister for Justice if he will enumerate and name, stating the purpose and function of each one, the several advisory or consultative councils, commissions, committees and similar bodies appointed by him since 1st June, 1954.

As a result of an agreement reached in this House during a debate in November, 1955, on a motion by Deputy McQuillan, as amended by Deputy Boland, regarding the licensing laws a Commission of Inquiry was appointed on 4th July, 1956, to inquire into the operation of the laws relating to the sale and supply of intoxicating liquor and to make recommendations.
