Notes:
1. The mileage of county roads in each county is based on the 1977 Inventory of Public Roads.
2. The 1988 Memorandum on Road Grants provides that the block grant may be used for the improvement, maintenance and management of regional roads; for improvement works on county roads; for traffic management measures on any public road; and for surface dressing and repair of pot holes on the network of primary county roads.
3. The 1988 Memorandum on Road Grants provides that the county road strengthening grant should be spent on primary county roads as far as practicable and that local authorities also have discretion to spend the grant on regional road strengthening.
