Seanad Éireann debate -
Friday, 3 May 1991

Vol. 128 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Éamon Ó Cuív that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Energy to outline if he is willing to grant planting grants and premia for forestry in areas of scientific interest in Connemara and also areas designated as areas of outstanding scenic amenity under the Galway county plan.

I also received notice from Senator Pat Upton of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to request the EC to act in consort with the rest of the international community to prevent the impending famine in Africa.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ó Cuív and Upton as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Ó Cuív's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Upton may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
