The Joint Committee on Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has launched its report on sustaining viable rural communities.

During the past year, the committee received evidence from more than 50 organisations that work, live or advocate for rural Ireland.

In the report, the committee identifies the need for targeted investment and infrastructure in order to foster fair spatial growth. The committee has also reported that despite the challenges, rural Ireland is a great place to live and is home to many creative and energetic communities.
