Vol. 59 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inter-Departmental Committee on Public Works.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the Inter-Departmental Committee on Public Works have now completed their inquiries within their terms of reference: and, if so, whether it is his intention to place on the Table of the House copies of any reports or recommendations made by them.

The answer to the first part of the Question is in the negative. No decision has yet been taken in relation to the second portion.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say what this Committee is doing at the moment? Are they just carrying on?

No, it is not just carrying on. It is working very hard, and it is a committee of which the House has every reason to be proud, by reason of the great work they are doing.

Is there any hope of their work being completed before the end of the financial year?

Great hope.
