The number of labourers' cottages erected under Acts of the Oireachtas up to December 31st, 1936, was 8,576; the amount of loans under these Acts (a) sanctioned was £4,435,504 and (b) received was £2,879,202; the average cost of the cottages erected was £300 and the average weekly rent payable by tenants was 2/6.
