Vol. 105 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Phoenix Park Labourers' Wages.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has under consideration the wages paid to labourers employed in the Phoenix Park; and if so, if he is prepared to increase the wages of these labourers.

The wages of labourers employed in the Phoenix Park are at present under consideration.

When is a decision expected?

I am not in a position to say. I expect it will be arrived at without any undue delay.

The Cavan boys have introduced a new spirit.

Every place we go, we do that.

So I observe. The Department of Agriculture is beginning to hum.

asked the Minister for Finance if any portion of the bonus awarded last year to labourers employed in the Phoenix Park has been withheld; and if so, if he will state the reasons for withholding payments to these men.

Each labourer in the Phoenix Park has been paid the full amount of bonus appropriate in his case. The second part of the question does not therefore arise.
