Vol. 123 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Water and Sewerage Services.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider making grants for the purpose of providing urgently needed water and sewerage services for Baskin Cottages and Turnapin Cottages, Cloghran, County Dublin.

No proposals have been submitted to my Department for the provision of water and sewerage services for these cottages and in the absence of details it is not possible to be specific as regards grants. I may say, however, that I am always prepared to consider suitable proposals from sanitary authorities for the provision of water and sewerage schemes. As intimated in my reply to the Deputy's question on 20th June, 1950, concerning the need for water supplies in the Malahide Road-Belcamp area, where the Baskin Cottages are situate, the extension of the existing mains to the area is not considered practicable by the sanitary authority.
