Vol. 126 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clinics and Dispensaries (County Dublin).

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the hardship caused by reason of the inadequacy of clinics and dispensaries provided in the Kimmage and North Crumlin areas of Dublin; and, if so, whether his Department will consult with the Dublin Corporation to ensure that additional clinics and dispensaries will be provided in this area.

I am aware that the existing clinics and dispensaries in the North Crumlin area are inadequate. The Dublin Board of Assistance has provided a large new health clinic of a very good standard, which will be available for the treatment of patients very shortly. The Dublin Corporation also is providing a spacious health centre in the area. The position will be improved very materially when services are provided in these buildings.

A new dispensary has been opened at Terenure to serve portion of the Kimmage area and the board of assistance is considering an extension of the dispensary at Cashel Road.
