asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the amount paid in grants to An Óige hostels in Killarney, Cork, Dublin and Galway for each of the years 1956, 1957 and 1958.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grants to An Óige Hostels.
A sum of £32,500 has been allocated to An Óige from the National Development Fund for the provision of new youth hostels at Dublin, Cork and Killarney and for the carrying out of improvements to existing hostels at Ballhill, County Donegal, and Knockree, County Wicklow. No application was made for a grant in respect of a hostel in Galway.
I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate with the Official Report a tabular statement showing details of the amounts which have been issued out of the grant in respect of each hostel in each of the financial years 1955-56, 1956-57 and 1957-58, as well as in the current financial year to date.
Following is the statement:—
