Vol. 169 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Wexford Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is proposed to divide the Bolger estate, County Wexford, which has been in the possession of the Land Commission since 1955, and, if so, when.

I understand that the question of carrying out some rehabilitation on these lands may have to be considered before they are ready for disposal. Consequently I am not at present in a position to state when allotment will take place.

The Minister is no doubt aware that these lands have been in the hands of the Land Commission since 1955. Can he give any indication as to when he will be in a position to make a statement relative to the division of the lands in question?

It is not likely that these lands will be divided within the next 12 months.

From that I take it that, from now on, it will take the Land Commission four years to divide an estate. Is that correct?

It is an improvement on some of the times averaged in the past.
