Vol. 170 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Superannuation Scheme for Former G.N.R. Employees.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the trade unions representing the skilled shop workers employed by the G.N.R. Company at Dundalk were negotiating, prior to their transfer to the Dundalk Engineering Works, with representatives of the company for a contributory superannuation scheme on the same basis as operates in C.I.E.; and whether he will arrange that the negotiations will be continued between the management of the Dundalk Engineering Works and the unions concerned.

I am aware that such negotiations had been proceeding. The question as to whether there should be a new superannuation scheme, and if so the nature of the scheme is now a matter for consideration between the management of the Dundalk Engineering Works and the unions concerned.
