Vol. 205 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford-Tramore Bus Service.

54.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power what are the latest returns from the CIE Waterford-Tramore bus service during the past twelve months, including (1) the number of passengers carried, (2) the gross revenue taken, and (3) the profit and loss on the service.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given by me on 28th February, 1962 to questions asked by him on this subject. As I explained on that occasion, statistics of the numbers of passengers using particular rail or road services are not published, nor have I requested or directed under the appropriate provision of the Transport Act, 1950 that they should be provided.

Might I remind the Minister that when I brought him in here on an Adjournment Debate, he gave me that information and I will take this opportunity of giving notice that next week I intend bringing him in again.

The Deputy will get it again.

I am glad the Minister gave me the information I wanted today.

I gave the Deputy information arising from the closing of the Waterford-Tramore line. It had nothing to do with the routine, day-to-day operation of a State company.

(Interruptions)

We will see if the Minister will answer the next question.
