Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Secondary School Accommodation.
Mr. O'Malley
The accommodation available in the secondary schools in Limerick will probably be sufficient to meet the expected increase in enrolments as from 1st September, 1967. Arrangements have however been made to provide additional prefabricated classrooms in Limerick and elsewhere, if required. Details of the secondary school accommodation available at present and of the number on the rolls for the current school year in all secondary schools in Limerick city are set out in the attached statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.
The following are details of the accommodation available in September, 1965 (according to returns furnished by the schools), and the enrolments for the school year 1966-67 in all secondary schools in Limerick city:—

Building proposals now before the Department or already approved in the case of three of the secondary schools will add a further 390 places (130 boys plus 260 girls) to the total secondary school accommodation available in the city.
