asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of Irish Government securities held by the Central Bank as of 31st March, 1966, and at the latest available date in the form of the reply to Question No. 121 of the 8th March, 1966.

Following is the information requested by the Deputy as at 31st March, 1966; the position as at 13th March, 1967 —the latest date for which information is available—is shown in brackets:

(1) Certificates of Indebtedness for sums totalling £9,377,300 held for advances out of the Legal Tender Note Fund under the Bretton Woods Agreements Act 1957:

£2,439,700 at 3½ per cent per annum

(same at 13th March 1967)

£3,205,200 at 4 per cent per annum

£232,500 at 5 per cent per annum

£3,499,900 at 5½ per cent per annum

(2) Other securities in Legal Tender Note Fund: nil (nil)

(3) Securities in General Fund: I have no information under this head other than in relation to:

(i) Certificates of Indebtedness for sums totalling £8,457,100 (at 13th March, 1967, £7,989,300) held for advances under

(a) The International Finance Corporation Act, 1958

£118,500 at 4 per cent per annum (same at 13th March, 1967)

(b) The International Development Association Act, 1960

£27,000 at 3½ per cent per annum

(same at 13th March, 1967)

£54,000 at 4 per cent per annum

£13,500 at 5 per cent per annum

£208,400 at 5½ per cent per annum

(c) The Bretton Woods Agreements Act, 1957

£8,035,700 (Non-interest bearing) (at 13th March, 1967, £7,567,900)

(ii) Exchequer Bills rediscounted—

Nil (at 13th March, 1967, £1,000,000)

(iii) £20,510,000 in 6% Funding Loan, 1969 (same at 13th March, 1967)

The statutory form of accounts as laid down in the Central Bank of Ireland (Form of Statement of Accounts) Regulations, 1961, does not provide for the indication of Irish Government securities held in the Central Fund.
