The Poisons Council have considered the position regarding restrictions on the sale of a wide range of medical preparations, including phenacetin. The Council's recommendations have been incorporated in draft regulations to be made under the Poisons Act, 1961, which will shortly be submitted to interested bodies for consideration. I will consider the position regarding phenacetin in the light of the views received from these bodies.
