Vol. 238 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital Beds.

84.

asked the Minister for Health the number of beds provided by local authority hospitals in Ireland.

The total number of beds provided in local authority hospitals, including psychiatric hospitals and county homes, is 37,218 beds.

85.

asked the Minister for Health the total number of (a) public beds and (b) private beds provided by voluntary hospitals in Ireland.

It is necessary to check on the up-to-date position about the division of beds and I would hope to be able to supply the information if the Deputy would repeat the question in about a fortnight's time.
