Vol. 255 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mountain Lamb Headage Bonus Scheme.

86.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if a scheme will be implemented immediately whereby all mountain lambs accepted for slaughter at factories will qualify for a headage bonus or subsidy, thereby providing owners of mountain sheep with an incentive to dispose of their lambs.

I do not propose to introduce such a scheme. In my view, the headage schemes already in operation are quite attractive.
