Vol. 262 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Television Reception.

59.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if any steps are being taken to improve TV reception in the North Kerry area, with particular reference to the Listowel locality.

I understand that reception difficulties in the area mentioned are attributable to interference from foreign stations which occurs during summer, and which is outside RTE's control. To eliminate the interference would require a major modification of the Maghera transmitter, and because of shortage of capital RTE are unable to say when it will be possible to do this work.
