: The grant was paid on the 8 March 1983.

: This grant will be paid shortly.

: There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

: There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named in respect of the address given.

asked the Minister for the Environment if an application for a reconstruction grant has been approved for a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

: The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for a report on the applicant's eligibility for a grant. On receipt of this report, the matter will be determined as quickly as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the long delay in paying a housing reconstruction or a house improvement scheme grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

: There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Offaly as the matter appears to be going on for some time.

: The new house grant has been paid in this case.

The applicant has been requested to submit information to my Department in support of his claim for payment of the mortgage subsidy. On receipt of this information the matter will be determined.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

: A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will increase the level of house improvement grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who has had to improve the basic structure of his house.

: The house improvement grant of £600 approved in this case is the maximum allowable for the type of work involved e.g. major necessary works to the basic fabric of a house.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in regard to an application for a mortgage subsidy from a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: The applicant in this case has been requested to submit documentation to my Department in support of his application for a mortgage subsidy. As soon as this is received, his eligibility for the subsidy will be determined.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant and a mortgage subsidy will be approved and paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: The applicant in this case has been requested to submit information to my Department in support of his application for a new house grant and mortgage subsidy. When it is received the file will be referred to the inspector for investigation and report with a view to allocation and payment of the grant, if in order.

If the applicant is approved for the mortgage subsidy, he can claim payment of the first phase of the subsidy when at least 12 months have elapsed from the date of execution of the mortgage deed.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: A house improvement grant cannot be allowed in this case because contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant has been so informed.

: The grant will be paid shortly.
