Vol. 356 No. 4

Written Answers. - Transfer of Prisoner.

598.

asked the Minister for Justice in view of representations already made to him and in view of the fact that a satisfactory reply on the matter has not been received to date, if he will state the final reply in relation to Deputy Keating's representations on behalf of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 concerning her husband who is at present serving a prison sentence in Limerick prison.

Limerick East): No trace of representations from Deputy Keating can be found relating to this prisoner's case. The prisoner, who is serving a sentence of seven years penal servitude for wounding with intent, has made a number of applications to be returned from Limerick prison (where he was transferred for security reasons in February 1984) to Mountjoy prison which have been rejected. His most recent application is still under consideration and a decision will be made on it in due course.
