Vol. 356 No. 10

Written Answers. - Road Grants.

517.

asked the Minister for the Environment the amount per mile applied for by Louth County Council in respect of the road block grant, 1985; the amount per mile allocated by his Department in respect of the road block grant, 1985; and the comparative amounts applied for and allocated in counties Meath, Monaghan and Cavan.

The amount of the block grant for roads payable to any authority is determined by me and is not the subject of an application to my Department. The amount of grant allocated in 1985 per mile of main and county road in the counties in question is, as follows: Louth, £246.87; Meath, £231.43; Monaghan, £216.94; Cavan, £270.85.
