The total number of larcenies recorded for the Cork area for the first 11 months of 1985 is 4,299; for the same period in 1978 the figure is 3,024. As regards the value of the property stolen, the figures are £757,005 for the 1985 period and £278,305 for the 1978 period. The figures in relation to 1985 are provisional at this stage.
