Vol. 364 No. 10

Written Answers. - Amendment of Regulations.

65.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will amend the regulations so that it will not be necessary for planning authorities to charge applicants for planning permission to extend or improve bed and breakfast houses at the commercial rate; and if he will make a statement on the matter having regard to the improvement to the economy brought about by such applicants.

The fees payable in respect of planning applications for the provision of premises for bed and breakfast accommodation are calculated on the same basis as for other types of commercial development under the Local Government (Planning and Development) (Fees) Regulations, 1984. I have no proposals for the amendment of the regulations in this regard.
