The total expenditure by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara on rent, rates, insurance and maintenance costs in respect of the former headquarters in Hume House, Ballsbridge, from the date of transfer to new headquarters in Dún Laoghaire to 28 February 1986 amounted to £309,800. Despite continuous efforts the board have not yet succeeded in leasing the vacant premises in Ballsbridge. The board's lease on 35 per cent of the premises will terminate in February 1987 and negotiations are currently under way with prospective tenants for the remaining part of the premises.
