Eighty officials have accepted the scheme to date. The resultant saving is about £1.1 million in a full year. A further 88 staff have indicated their intention of accepting the terms during the coming months. The scheme is designed to achieve real savings by reducing the numbers serving and total expenditure in the public service and not for the purpose of re-allocating funds to other areas.
