Vol. 383 No. 4

Written Answers. - Services for Women.

139.

asked the Minister for Health the money provided in the 1989 Estimates for centres that provide services for women who have been raped and sexually abused children and the basis on which this money is distributed.

Individual service budgets for 1989 are not yet available. I would like to reiterate, however, that the service needs in the areas mentioned by the Deputy have, and will continue to have, a very high priority.

As an indication of this, I allocated, from lottery funds this year, a total of £500,000 to health boards to supplement the amounts made available by them for services relating to child sexual abuse.
