asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on school transport arrangements serving St. Fintan's convent, Durrow, County Laois; and whether in the light of the significant hardship of many pupils she will restore the level of service to that in operation in 1987.

The standard of service which is currently available to these pupils is considered adequate and is within the time limits with regard to travelling and waiting time laid down in relation to the general operation of the post-primary transport scheme.
In the circumstances, it is not proposed to alter the existing arrangements.
