Vol. 393 No. 1

Written Answers. - Irish Emigrants Voting Rights.

71.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any proposals to facilitate the rights of Irish emigrants to vote in various local, national and European elections and the referenda that take place within the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no proposals at present for a general extension of voting rights to Irish emigrants. However, it is intended that the feasibility of extending voting rights to recent emigrants will be examined.
