Vol. 395 No. 1

Written Answers. - Emergency Communication Systems for Elderly.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

141 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health, in relation to the provision of emergency communication systems for the elderly, if he will give details of such systems for the elderly, if he will give details of such systems as are in place; the number of people availing of their use in each health board area; whether there are plans for the extension of such systems to different areas; whether he has considered the provision of special funding for the installation of such systems; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I regret it is not possible to supply this information immediately. As this information is not kept as a matter of course by my Department each health board has been contacted in order to obtain the up to date position on developments in this area and once this information is received I will write to the Deputy with the details.
