170 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Energy the guidelines for planting which have been completed by his Department in conjunction with the Department of the Environment in relation to the programme of afforestation that would take account of the protection of amenity and landscape as promised in his environmental action programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The preparation of guidelines on forestry and its possible impact on fisheries is now almost complete. Further guidelines relating specifically to amenity and landscape will be completed later this year.
