Vol. 410 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Attendance Officer for Loughlinstown (County Dublin).

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

237 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that for the past two years, the Loughlinstown area of County Dublin has been without the services of a school attendance officer; and when she intends to arrange for the appointment of a school attendance officer in this area.

The filling of vacancies for school attendance officers is primarily a matter for the appropriate local authority.

Mr Department's role is limited to that of approving the qualifications of any proposed nominee.
