Question:

210 Mr. Cullimore asked the Minister for Labour the amount of finance which the Youth Employment Levy brings in annually.

The Youth Employment Levy was introduced in 1982 under the Youth Employment Agency Act, 1981. The Labour Services Act, 1987, extended the scope of the levy to an employment and training levy generally. Receipts in respect of 1991 amounted to £134 million.
