Bernard Allen

Question:

417 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform if he will give details of the appointments made in November and December, 1992, and January, 1993, to State boards under his aegis; the names of those appointed; and the boards to which they have been appointed.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

421 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the number of Government or Ministerial appointments made to public bodies, State companies, State boards, State agencies or other organisations under his aegis, between 5th November, 1992 and 12th January, 1993; the persons appointed in each case; and the date on which the appointment was made.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 417 and 421 together. On 10 November, 1992 the then Minister for Labour appointed a new board to the Employment Equality Agency. Details of the 11 persons appointed to the board are as follows:

Chairperson: Ms. Kate Hayes; Employers' Members (Nominated by FIE): Mr. John Doherty, Ms. Marie Moynihan; Workers' Members (Nominated by ICTU): Ms. Noirin Greene, Ms. Margaret Nolan; Nominees of the Council for the Status of Women: Ms. Carmel Foley, Ms. Kathleen O'Sullivan, Ms. Anne Taylor; Other Appointees: Mr. Paul Cullen, Mrs. Lenore Mrkwicka, Ms. Miriam O'Callaghan.
Mr. John Doherty, above, was appointed as Vice-Chairperson on 9 December, 1992.
I understand that no appointments were made to the Legal Aid Board during the months in question.
