Question:54 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he will give his policy in regard to public servants having contact with representatives of Provisional Sinn Féin.
Written Answers. - Public Servants' Contacts with Provisional Sinn Féin.
I refer the Deputy to the Taoiseach's reply to his Parliamentary Question No. 1 on 29 June 1993 about contacts between members of the Government and representatives of Provisional Sinn Féin. As regards the current question I can respond only in relation to civil servants, as my responsibility in this matter does not extend to the wider public service. In so far as official contacts at civil service level are concerned, the same policy applies as that applicable to members of the Government.
