Question:

119 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the programme managers, advisers and specialists attached to his office and the office of his Ministers of State; the functions of such persons; the salary of each person or the value of their contract where appropriate; and the other costs and expenses involved in these appointments. [10683/95]

I have appointed a programme manager to assist me in managing and co-ordinating the achievement of relevant objectives in A Government of Renewal. She is in receipt of a salary of £43,752 per annum and is paid travelling and subsistence expenses, at the standard Civil Service rates, in respect of travel undertaken in the course of her official duties.

The Minister of State, Deputy Liz McManus, has appointed a special adviser at a salary of £27,540 per annum, whose primary role is to provide advice and assistance to her in relation to her functions and responsibilities. Payment of travelling and subsistence expenses may also arise in respect of travel in the course of official duties.
