Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - Revenue Commissioners' Procedure.

Tony Gregory

Question:

49 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance the reason the owner of the cars referred to in Parliamentary Question 47 of 4 July 1995, was informed by the personnel investigating the matter that it had been raised by Deputy Gregory; if this is the appropriate procedure; and if not, the disciplinary action, if any, which will be taken. [13012/95]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that it is not the practice for Revenue to reveal the source of information or the identity of the complainant. In the event of an interviewee seeking information as to the source, it is the practice to respond that the inquiry is routine. This procedure is adhered to in all cases.
