Vol. 465 No. 1

Written Answers. - Citizenship Application.

Mildred Fox

Question:

162 Ms M. Fox asked the Minister for Justice the reason a Lebanese immigrant (details supplied) in County Wicklow was refused naturalisation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9126/96]

The Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1956, as amended in 1986, provides that the granting of a certificate of naturalisation is at my absolute discretion and it is not policy, therefore, to disclose the reason or reasons for refusal in an individual case.
