656 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Justice if she will report on the work being carried out in the Office of the Attorney General in respect of the preparation of legislation for the possible verification of arms decommissioning by paramilitary groups at some future date. [13417/96]
Work on the preparation of legislative proposals on decommissioning of arms, including the question of an arms amnesty, consistent with the terms of the recommendations contained in the International Body's report is under way in my Department in consultation with the Attorney General's Office. That work is now at an advanced stage.
